Magali Bongrand : MBA

Magali Started her consulting career as International Consultant specialized in the compilation of investment and economic reports on developing countries. She started and was the Managing Director of Africa Report and World Report Media. She has extensive international work experience in over 30 countries. Through the experience of working and living in Africa, Magali developed a critical knowledge and understanding of the opportunities of the continent. Ultimately, Magali wants to contribute her entrepreneurial aptitude and attitude to the development of Africa. She obtained her MBA from the University of Amsterdam.

Hubert Danso: LLB, LLM

Hubert is Vice Chairman of Africa Investor, Vice Chairman of African Investment Advisory (AIA) and Managing Editor of Africa investor magazine. He has responsibility for business and product development, strategy and establishing the group amongst business and intergovernmental organisations. Hubert joined Africa investor from the ICC (the World Business Organisation) where he was the Senior Adviser for African Affairs and responsible for relations with international organisations. Hubert holds an LLB in Business Law and an LLM Masters in International Commercial Law from the University of Sussex. He has advised several captains of industry, Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, African Development Bank, DFID, African Union, UNEP, UNCTAD, the World Bank, Commonwealth Business Council and African Business Roundtable. Hubert spearheaded the design and establishment of the NEPAD Business Group - a coalition of leading international business organisations that support NEPAD goals. Hubert is an advisor to the African Business Roundtable and is a member of the UNEP Finance Initiative African Task Force, the UN Business Committee on Financing for Development and the International Advisory Board of the Institute of Public Policy Research (IPPR). Through AIA Hubert advises business and governments on private sector participation and public affairs in infrastructure development through the NEPAD Infrastructure Investment Facility (NIIF). A $50m World Bank supported programme to mobilise investment for infrastructure development in Africa.

Pancho Ndebele: BEng (Hons), MSc, LLM, MBA

Pancho holds the following degrees from UK universities; MBA, Master of Laws (LLM) in Environmental Law, Master of Science (MSc) in Water and Wastewater Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In 2002 he served on the Business Co-ordinating Forum, for the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) and developed the “water neutral” concept for the WSSD. He has worked on water and effluent treatment projects, energy and emission reduction projects. He has experience in developing “green tech” solutions with a corporate social responsibility spin, project management and the implementation of strategies for sustainable development. He was instrumental in driving the first carbon emissions reduction project by a major corporate in South Africa to be registered by the United Nations CDM Executive Board. He serves as an alternate business member on the National Environmental Advisory Forum (NEAF) that advises the South African Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism. He is a board member of the London based International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT). He chaired the 2007 peer review panel of The Netherlands Sustainable Development Strategy at the request of the Dutch Government. He is the founder of Emvelo – “a sustainable development company”, before founding Emvelo Group; he worked for Hosiden Besson (UK), 3M and SABMiller’s South African operations where he was head of Sustainable Development.
